Halloween Snack time featuring Boden Clothing

October is in full swing and that means lots of fun, festive snacks and spooky outfits!  Because if you are gonna make a ooey-gooey snack you need to look good doing it!

Boden clothing has been a favorite of mine since I had Olivia.  I love their unique style and you cannot beat the amazing quality.  Bonus for mom - their clothing is machine washable and all the mamas say amen!  I also love that they come up with the cutest holiday line and this years Halloween collection is to die for ;) Jack is obsessed with dragons (he is even dressing up like one for Hallowen!) and when I saw this dragon applique shirt I knew it would be perfect for him.  Olivia and her love of kitties inspired me to pick this darling Kitty Pinafore for her.

Boden has you covered from head to toe with the most adorable and durable shoes to match their outfits.  Olivia picked out these Glitter boots that I kinda wish were in my size and Jack went classic with the cutest Blue Suede shoes!

Now for the tasty treats!
We are a candy corn loving bunch so we made these super adorable candy corn shaped rice krispie treats.  The recipe is pretty simple and there are a few layers so it is perfect for little helping sticky hands to help with.

What you'll need:

Yellow Ring:
5 cups Rice Krispies cereal
6 cups marshmallows
4 tablespoons butter
yellow food coloring

Orange Ring:
3 cups rice krispies cereal
4 cups marshmallows
3 tablespoons butter
orange food coloring
(or red and yellow food coloring)

White Ring:
2 cups rice Krispies cereal
2 1/2 cups marshmallows
2 tablespoons butter

non stick spray and or butter for hands and utensils
2 large bowls (one microwave safe), 2 round cake pans, 2 rubber spatulas

*Spray cake pans with non stick spray and set aside.
*Starting with the ingredients for the yellow ring, add marshmallows and butter in a microwave safe bowl for 3 minutes or until the butter is melted and the marshmallows are puffed up (watch it closely so it doesn't overflow).
*Remove from microwave and stir completely to mix.  Add in yellow food coloring (I added 15 drops) You want the mixture to be a bold color so it coats the cereal enough to turn it yellow.
* Pour marshmallow mixture over cereal and stir with non stick spray coated spatula.
*Using your hands (coated in butter or non stick spray) mold half the mixture into a ring around the outside of the cake pan then repeat on the second pan.
* Repeat the steps for the orange ring and the white ring until you have a candy corn bullseye!
* Let each pan cool completely (20-30 minutes) then flip rice krsipie treats over on a cutting board, tap the cake pan to release them onto the cutting board
* Use a sharp knife to cut in half, then quarters, then cut each quarter in half

The kids and I had so much fun making these cute treats and even more fun eating them!  A tasty dessert and cute outfit always make the holidays more fun! You can check out the whole Spooky Halloween Shop here by Boden and I'm sure they will have something for your little witches and goblins! Boden encourages kids to be whoever they want to be and Halloween is such a fun time to let their little personality shine!

Happy October friends! Hope you love these treats and outfits as much as we do!

  5. Colors, patterns, and prints of vintage clothing should also be taken into consideration. Vintage presumably means progressively about the prints and patterns of the fabrics rather than the everything else.Kinderjassen
