Merry Christmas 2015

Christmas Eve we went to the candle light service at my Mom's church and then ad a family dinner at her house. We hurried home to get the kids all nestled in their beds so we could get to work playing Santa.   I absolutely love setting up their presents and getting everything ready for them in the morning.  We decided to only set a few things out from Santa and have the rest wrapped from us (not that either of them know the difference right now).  I was so excited I could hardly wait until morning!

Olivia woke up in a horrible mood, but was soon over that when she saw all of her goodies. I put her unicorn that she had been asking for behind all of her other presents, but it was the first thing she spotted when she came down stairs.  She climbed on immediately and was beaming with pride. Every time she walked past it she would kiss and hug it and say "I love my lunitorn"

Little creature of habit then demanded her cereal and juice so we took a break and got the essentials then started tearing into the goodies.  She was so excited with each gift.  It was the sweetest thing.  I think we opened presents for over an hour!

Jack hung out and was his happy little self. Olivia and I opened his presents for him and she would take them over and show him what he got, so sweet.  He only made it half way through present opening and he got sleepy and went down for his morning nap.

After we finished opening presents and Jack woke up from his nap we headed to Nana's for brunch and more presents!  I managed to get one group shot of all of us.  I love my family so much and I am so blessed to have them in my life.  I am reminded more of this during the holiday season just how blessed  we are.

The weather was a balmy 78 degrees and we finished out the evening with tornado warnings.  Not your typical Christmas Day, but we were all safe thank goodness.  The day after Christmas we visited my Dad's side of the family.  The kids were pretty wild after a few days of being off their schedule.  We tried to get a group picture that we do every year and this is the best we could come up with..

and real life craziness...

This Christmas was so much fun and I can only imagine it getting better as Olivia and Jack get older.  Chad snapped this picture of Olivia and me in the midst of our own tornado of a mess and I was reminded of this quote "The most glorious messes in the world is the one made in the living room on Christmas morning"  It couldn't be more true.

I am sad to see this Christmas go, but I will always have this picture of my little jolly fella to make me smile ;)

He had a broad face and a round little belly, that shook when he laughed like a bowl full of jelly,
He was chubby and plump, a right jolly old elf and I laughed when I saw him, in spite of myself

Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night!
