19 Months Old

It has been way too long since I have done a monthly update on my sweet Olivia, so let's get right to it!

We haven't been to the doctor in a while so I am not sure how tall she is, but she wears a 2t in pants and they are still flooding on her if that tells you anything.  Long string bean weighs in between 22 and 23 pounds depending on how still I can get her to be on the scale ;)  Still wearing a size 4 in diapers with plenty of room and I hope we only have a few more months of those left.  She sits on the potty before her bath every night and sometimes even goes tee-tee. I think mostly she is in it for the m&m's though.

Girl loves to read.  Her favorite book is Where The Wild Things Are.  Pretty sure we both have it memorized forwards and backwards.  She also loves the "If you give a mouse a cookie" books.  Anything with pop ups or flaps she can pull up is an instant hit as well.  I am so glad she likes to read, gives me lots of snuggle time.

Favorite toys right now are babies and stuffed animals.  She is going to be such an amazing big sister.  She loves to wrap her babies up and carry them around the house bouncing and shhh-ing them the whole time.  Melts my heart.  She also loves to color, her favorite weapon of choice is a marker.  We have tea parties multiple times a day and have at least three tea sets in various rooms of the house so no one ever goes thirsty.  She got a kitchen for Christmas and has been cooking up a storm, definitely a favorite present.

Totally how I cook, don't you?
We have a very busy little bee on our hands.  The amount of energy this kid has amazes me.  She loves to climb anything and everything she can and she is surprisingly coordinated and good at it.  One of her favorite games we play is getting one of her several riding/pushing toys and making mommy or daddy push it running from one end of the house to the other. And she yells "set, GO" every time laughing hysterically.

We are working on broadening her diet since she decided she would eat nothing but popsicles and chicken nuggets a couple of months ago.  She loves any kind of bread, pizza and chips and crackers, no idea where that came from.  Every morning first thing when she wakes up she asks for a snack "nack" with a big smile and I counter with "how about some breakfast first?" to which she says "cheese"..."toast"!!! Little negotiator already.  She does love fruit though.  She asks for an "orangggeee" at least 10 times a day and blue berries are her favorites.  Her very favorite thing in the whole world though are icee pops. She takes me to the freezer and grabs the handle and looks up at me with a sweet little grin and says "POP".  I say "what do you say" she says "peeeaaasss" so of course she gets way too many popsicles. In the off chance that she has had like 10 that day and I say no she melts into a puddle of screaming toddler...these are the days, right?

She is starting to talk a lot more and at least tries to repeat everything I say.  Her favorite word is definitely "no", independent little booger that one is. She does give a very enthusiastic "Yesshh" when I ask her if she loves her mommy though :)   She refers to herself as "willie-uh" and I love it.  "Ash, Aye Kate (which she calls Ava and Allie haha) and Nana" are all called upon every day asking where they are.  She loves "ba-tick" chapstick and does a pretty good job putting it on when she isn't eating it.  She says please and thank you all the time, "bess you" when anyone sneezes and let's go, grabbing your hand when she wants to take you somewhere.  There is a lot of jabbering that I don't understand, but she is so cute when she is doing it like she is telling me something very important.  It is getting easier and easier to understand her and I think it helps her to be able to communicate too.

It is no secret that my girl is strong willed and will throw a tantrum at the drop of a hat sometimes, but she is also the sweetest little girl ever too.  She is so cuddly and loving.  She loves to snuggle and give hugs and kisses.  She just started giving real kisses and it is hilarious.  She makes a fish face and puckers those little lips up and even makes the smacking sound, so sweet.  She loves to run between me and Daddy giving hugs and kisses for no reason. I think her favorite person is her 4 month old cousin Hudson, whom she refers to as "Hubby".  She is seriously obsessed with him and wants to hug and kiss him constantly.  I just know she is going to be the best big sister ever.

I closed my eyes before taking the picture..to which she responds sshhhhh

It seems like she is getting smarter and learning more every day.  It is amazing how much kids retain and their memories are crazy.  She knows her basic colors and can count to two haha.  The counting is mainly when she is about to jump off of something.  I know if I hear one, twooo coming from the other room I better hurry before we end up with some broken bones.  She is such a little monkey, climbing on everything and anything.  She is quite agile and rarely falls though.  Maybe she will be a gymnast..or a ninja ;)

Big news, her hair is officially long enough for a real pony tail!  I know, pretty awesome huh?  I just can't handle all the cuteness sometimes.

My little teething monster celebrated her 19 month birthday by cutting her first 2 year molar...yes, you read that right.  That brings the grand total up to 17 teeth.  I am hoping she gets the other 3 out of the way before we venture into potty training and a big girl bed.  A girl can dream, right?

To my sweet Olivia Jane

I cannot even begin to express the joy I feel being your momma.  I will cherish our morning snuggles in my bed and kissing every boo-boo as long as you will let me.  You are growing and changing so fast it is hard to keep up and I am so thankful that I get to be the one here with you all day long.  You are my very best friend and even though you have turned into a Daddy's girl lately I know I am still your favorite deep down ;).  Thank you for being my first baby girl and all of the things you have taught me about life and myself.  I know we will always have a special bond.  I love you so much my sweet baby girl!

Christmas Straglers

December passed by in a whirlwind as it tends to do.  It seemed especially fast this year though, days seem shorter when you nap at least once and go to bed before 8.  This pregnancy is pretty much kicking my butt in the energy department.  So here is to a little catching up.
I drug my kid to see Santa even know I knew what the outcome was going to be.  She was pumped up saying "Santa" the whole way to the mall.  All the way up until the time she actually saw him and realized I was going to hand her over to him.  This is what resulted...

Poor Santa was a good sport and kept his smile even though Olivia was clearly not being very nice.  We got a coupon for a free cookie and that cheered her right up.

Since it has been cold outside we haven't been able to go to the park or play in the back yard and burn off extra energy.  Olivia literally ran a loop around the mall at least 10 times and I just let her.  She was laughing and smiling the whole time only stopping to get a sip of my iiisheee (icee).  We stopped at tazikis for lunch on the way home where she did not eat one bite and barely let me eat two before interrupting the table next to us with her shenanigans.  It was a fun traumatic day for us both.

Chad and I got to go on a date night to our annual friend's Christmas party.  This year it was tacky style so a few of us decided to do Christmas Vacation characters.

I can't even look at this picture of cousin Eddie without giggling.  We had a great time getting to hang out with our friends and stay out late.  My sister came to my house and hung out while Olivia slept (for a little while at least).  Olivia was still having a hard time with her teeth and decided to wake up in the middle of the night ( and every 45 minutes from the hours of 1am until 6 am) so we headed home to check on the babe.
Love this crazy group~

I'm thinking next year's Christmas card?? ;)

Merry late Christmas ya filthy animals!

Christmsa 2014

Christmas this year was so special.  Chad took off work the whole week of Christmas and it was so nice to have him home with us.  I will admit my productivity has been lacking having him home though.  We have been pretty lazy just hanging out and enjoying our last Christmas as a family of three.  Christmas Eve Olivia woke up with a fever, but no other symptoms of sickness.  We decided to skip the candlelight service at church because she wasn't feeling so great.  We went to eat dinner at my Mom's and came home early to get little miss in the bed so Santa could come!
It was so much fun playing Santa this year!
I set out the milk and cookies we made and spent forever arranging all of her presents under the tree just right - and realizing we got her way to much stuff, oh well.

I could not wait to see her face on Christmas morning!
She woke up with a fever again, but that didn't stop her from digging into her toys.  Her favorite was her American Girl doll and stroller.

She had a blast on her trampoline when she finally discovered it under all of the presents.  She was a little overwhelmed with all of the unwrapping so I got to do most of that, but she was very excited about all of her new toys.

After we finished opening gifts we went to my Mom's for a late breakfast and to open presents with over there.  We just kept it comfy in our pajamas and ate some very yummy breakfast complete with homemade biscuits, gravy and hashbrown casserole.
Love these sweet babies so much!

We even let the boys in on a pic after they begged of course ;)

After we all had a nice long nap the weather was too perfect not to get outside so we bundled this little  diva up and went for a walk.

It was such a relaxing and fun day.  I wsa glad that it wasn't so busy that we didn't get to enjoy it.  After Olivia went to bed Chad and I ignored the masses of toys covering our living room, snuggled up and watched some Christmas Vacation.  It was a perfect end to a perfect day.  It is so hard to believe that we will have another baby next Christmas. I am so thankful for all of my blessings and celebrating the best of one all, Jesus Christ being born!

Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night.
