Catching up

Whew, these have been a busy past couple of weeks!  Here is to catching up and keeping up with the memories.  Our last few weeks in pictures!

We had one failed attempt to see the Easter Bunny with our cousins..

Nothing so bad a cookie couldn't fix though

Let's be honest, there are few situations that cannot be fixed by a cookie when you are little or almost 30.
We had the cousins over to make Easter pancakes and I think they turned out pretty well!  On good Friday they came over to eat resurrection rolls, but we didn't take any pics.  Maybe due to the insane amount of sugar and cinnamon that I had to clean up everywhere ;)

We had lunch and shopping with some sweet friends

And lunch all by ourselves. This girl is enough entertainment all by herself :)

Little lady had her first splash in the pool too! We rednecked it up in Ash's driveway and even rigged up an umbrella for my little pale child. I am so excited for summer with these little dolls!

No splashing, please ;)

The fun doesn't seem to be slowing down anytime soon!
I am so thankful for my sweet family and my sister and her girls.  We are best friends and see each other almost everyday and I hope I never take that for granted.  I am so blessed that my little girl gets to grow up surrounded by so much love.

Hope everyone is having a lovely week!

Happy Easter

This has been one of my very favorite Easter's to date.  We have had a hectic weekend, but we have had the privilege of worshiping our Lord twice this weekend and spent lots of time with sweet family.
Saturday evening we went to our church (Church of the Highlands) for the Easter service.  This is the first time we have put Olivia in the nursery ever so it was very nerve wracking for me.  I know we need to get back to church on a regular basis, even though we watch from home each week, there is something about being in the house of God that you cannot replicate from your living room.  I dropped her off and she went right to the girl in the nursery, no tears..by her anyways.  I met Chad in the sanctuary and fought back tears through the whole first worship song.  I said a prayer and let it go and really enjoyed the rest of the service.  When it was time to go get her I could hear her from down the hall..she was strapped into this little trolly thing screaming her head off.  My heart dropped.  She stopped crying as soon as I got her and she survived so all was well.  We stopped for dinner at P.F. Chang's, Chad's favorite!  We hurried home to get the babe in bed and get up in the morning and do it all again.
Sunday morning we have a tradition to go to church with my family and I decided to try the nursery again, I know, poor baby Olivia.  This time she cried when I dropped her off, but I gave them my cell phone number and instructed them to call me if she didn't stop, not letting my baby scream the whole time.  I clutched my phone the entire service, but really did enjoy it as well.  When I went to pick her up she was swinging and almost asleep, girl loves a swing!  Sweet baby was all smiles when we got home.

After church it was home for a nap and then lunch at my Mom's with the whole family.  Taking pictures of these little critters is hard work.  They are always on the move.

Chad and Emma must have been talking about something very important ;)

Olivia got to participate bang together eggs and scream any time her toes touched the grass in her first egg hunt!  By this point in the day she was ready for a nap and had no interest in eggs or really anyone else, but mama.  We still had fun though.

She was concentrating hard on hitting those eggs together.

We waited to let her open her Easter basket until we got home since our morning was kinda hectic trying to get out the door for church.   I kept it pretty simple this year.  I read something a while back that stuck with me as a good guideline for buying her gifts.  Something you want, something you need, something to wear and something to read.  She got yogurt bites and animal crackers as her want, girl loves to eat. She needs a toothbrush and hairbrush with all those new teeth and pretty hair growing in.  She got some cute new shoes (I got her a couple more pair that wouldn't fit in her basket) for the summer to wear and a few books to read.  If you haven't read the book God Gave Us Easter you should.  It is precious and does a really good job of explaining the meaning of Easter in a way a child can understand...not that she is old enough yet, but we will have it for her when she is.  Mommy Hugs and Daddy Hugs might possibly be the sweetest books ever too!

Hey Mom, give me those back - my feeble attempt to get her to look and smile at me

and to her mouth...like everything else these days

I think she liked her goodies.  We had such a wonderful and special Easter as a family of three.  I've said it before and I will say it again.  Having a kid makes holidays so much more fun :)
We are beyond blessed with this little miracle.
I am also so thankful to be a child of the living God! I celebrate today and everyday that Jesus died to save a wretch like me.  From the book I mentioned earlier, Easter is even better than Christmas because on Christmas we celebrate Jesus' birthday, but on Easter we celebrate that He wants us to be with Him forever!
Happy Easter from the Pearson's!

10 Months Old!

Double digits have arrived!  That can only mean one thing, the big ONE is right around the corner.  This month has been an absolute blast.  Time is flying by as usual, but we have made a lot of good memories and had lots of fun.  We have taken advantage of this beautiful spring and gotten outside as much as possible.  I feel so blessed every single day that I get to raise this super sweet, beautiful, special little girl!

You are growing so fast little lady I can barely keep up!  You have so many new tricks I don't even know where to start.  You are right on the verge of walking.  You can stand up without holding on to anything and you are very proud of yourself for doing so.  I let you start playing with your walker and you fly around the house with that thing.  Our poor cabinets and baseboards are taking a beating, but you are having a great time learning to walk.  For now, you are an expert crawler and super fast!

Only one little tooth this month, bottom left.  I am pretty sure you are working on some more though because you are back to your super slobbery self and you put everything in your mouth.  At least once a day I am fishing something out of your mouth than you found on the dirty floor are not supposed to have.  You are ninja fast when you want something.  I can drop a crumb and before I have time to bend down you have whipped it up in your mouth.

Sleep has been so much better this month after a couple of nights of crying it out, again.  I guess mommy needs to realize this is an ever changing game and with each new stage comes new reasons you no longer want to sleep, haha.  Bedtime is around 7:45 and you sleep through the night again until around 7 in the morning.  You have been taking a really good nap in the mornings, but not so much in the afternoon.  That one is mostly spent exploring in your crib, beating on the rails and walls and pretty much anything to avoid going to sleep, sigh.

You are one smart little girl.  I can wave to you now and you wave back and say bye-bye.  I don't think you actually understand what bye-bye means, but you know it goes with a wave so coming or going or just chilling in the floor we wave and say bye-bye all day long :)
You also play peek-a-boo! You cover your sweet little eyes up with your chubby little fists or whatever you are holding and pull them down super fast when I say boo! It has to be one of the cutest things I have ever seen.

Curls, curls!  Your hair is getting so thick and it definitely has some curl to it.  Most of the time it is a hot mess so I don't know what we are going to do with it when it gets longer.  You have enough hair now to wear a bow on a clip and it looks so pretty.  My baby girl is growing up.

You have decided that it is time to eat real food and you want to feed yourself.  I have let you try lots of new things and you pretty much like everything.  I just tear up little pieces of whatever we are eating and you are happy to eat beside us at the table.

We finally made the transition to the big bath tub! With no tears!  You even let me pour water right over your head to rinse without a fuss.  The floor, walls and mommy end up soaking wet most nights, but you have a blast playing in there.

You love animals!  Anytime you go to Nana's you go crazy over her little puppy. You even love stuffed animals.  Nana got you a big kitty for Christmas and you wallow that thing in the floor and love all over it. It is so sweet.  You also give mommy and daddy lots of love these days. You will lay your sweet head on our shoulders and just chill.

Some of your not so favorite things right now include changing your clothes or your diaper.  You make sure to let everyone know you are not happy with it by shrieking as loud as possible. I do have to say your squeals are quite impressive. You even leave my ears ringing sometimes!

I just love being your momma my precious girl.  You make me so happy and touch my heart in ways I didn't even know was possible.  You are such a little joy to us.  I think I am still your favorite, but you are getting really close to your daddy and it melts my heart to watch the two of you together.  I love playing with you and I am so blessed that we get to spend so much time together.  I love you to the moon and back my sweet angel baby!
 Happy 10 Months!

Adventures in Finger Foods

The days of purees are behind us.
Little lady has decided she is much more interested in what is on Mommy and Daddy's plate than hers.  I have been trying to make her eat her baby food for the last week to no avail so this weekend I gave up and let her eat big people food.  I have actually been looking forward to this for a while.  I really love to cook and get creative with her food and this just opens up so many new possibilities!
This morning for breakfast she had yogurt and some yummy fresh fruit!

I love to make her food fun and pretty...and I pretend that she likes it too.

This is such a wonderful time of year to try new fruits!  Her favorites were the grapes and blueberries.  She wasn't really a fan of the avocado or the pineapple, but we will try them again.
It is so fun to watch her explore with her little fingers and she gets so excited and proud of herself when she eats all of the food on her tray.

side note:  I am obsessed and slightly jealous of this child's eyelashes ;)

Cuties are my favorite fruit.  I eat probably 5 a day.  She loved them too.  She would eat them and make this face and laugh.

Besides making a huge mess and needing to mop the floor 3 times a day it is going great!  I cannot believe how big my girl is getting.

Next up, jellybeans!!!  I kid, momma doesn't share her jellybeans ;)

Lovely way to brighten our dreary Monday.
Hoping to try some new Easter inspired recipes this week!
I would love to hear some of your favorite ways to make food fun for little ones!

Spring Fever

I think it is safe to say spring is officially here!  We have been enjoying weather in the 70's the past couple of weeks and today it is 80.  Oh Alabama, can we just enjoy spring for a bit before summer starts in??
With spring comes one of my favorite holidays, Easter!  I cannot wait to teach my sweet girl the true meaning of Easter and celebrate our savior, Jesus, but this year I might have to settle with letting her help me frost eat our baked goodies ;)
She loves to be in the kitchen with me.  Most of the time she is hanging from my legs whining mama as I cook, but she gets so excited when I pick her up and let her get those chubby fingers in the action.  At 9 and a half months old she thinks she should be able to do everything herself too.  She wants to feed herself and makes quite the mess doing so.  We haven't found any food she doesn't love though yet!
Since the weather has been so nice I decided to hop outside and play around with my new camera and get some spring shots of baby girl!

We have Easter pictures coming up this Sunday so I was trying to get her warmed up ;)  Daddy was working in the yard and he had all of her attention.  Hopefully the little lamb she is having pictures taken with will strike her interest.

Love this little doll baby

Her favorite new smile...I am kind of obsessed with it

I hope everyone is making the most of this beautiful spring and getting ready for a lovely Easter holiday!

Happy Spring Peeps!
