9 Months Old

Well, I am officially a week late to the game with this blog.  I don't even have a good excuse other than we have just been super busy..and I don't like it.  Lately, my bow business has really taken off, which I am very thankful for, but I feel like I am constantly rushing to get orders completed or emailing people back and forth.  I do not want to sound like I am complaining at all, really just talking or typing outloud.
The realization that my baby is 9 months old has hit me hard, especially the fact that she is now 9 months and 1 week and I haven't even had the chance to document all of her new wonderfulness!!
She is so wonderful.
This last month has been truly amazing.  I have watched her learn and grow from day to day.  I know life takes its toll and we all get busy with things, but I know this one thing for sure, I don't want to miss a minute of time with my precious girl.
Happy 9 months my sweet Olivia Jane!

Girl, you are growing like a weed and hitting milestones like a boss this month!!
Weight: 18 pounds 13 ounces
Length: 28.5 inches

New tricks! Where to start?  A few days after you turned 8 months old you officially started crawling.  A few days after that you were pulling up on everything and standing (including your crib, which we will get to in a minute).  Fast forward a week and you are scaling the couches and pushing your walker around the house!  Now you are letting go and standing all by your little self!  It has been amazing to watch you this past month. You are so proud of yourself when you do something new or maybe you are just reacting to mommy acting like a total goober

Sleep has been a real challenge this month.  I am pretty sure we developed some bad habits while you were sick and they are still lingering.  You think you need to be rocked and nursed to sleep.  I secretly love this because we only have a few months left of this together.  The thought of that makes me want to cry...but this is a happy post :)  Sometimes it takes you a while to go to sleep because you are too busy standing in your crib and banging on the rails.  I go in to lay you back down and you start laughing immediately when you see me and get super mad when you realize I am not there to get you up and play.  Although, most days you win and skip one or both naps and become a raging no nap ninja.

You love to eat!  I have a confession: you are now eating store bought baby food, gasp!!!  I just wanted you to have more foods than I could find and you like it all so we are going with it.  Your favorites are still green veggies.  You especially love broccoli and green beans from mommy's plate.  You feed yourself like a champ using those little pincer fingers like a big girl.  Let's not forget that you drink water from a sippy cup now - HUGE accomplishment!!!  Maybe I won't have to go to kindergarten with you as your human juice box after all.

You are the dancing queen.  Anytime you hear music you bust a move.  It is pretty entertaining to watch.  You will even dance when I sing to you.  You love to stand by yourself and try to dance, but you have to bend your knees a good bit to maintain balance so it looks like you are really breaking it down, that's my girl!

You have been making some of the silliest faces lately. You are obsessed with playing with your reflection in the mirror.  You wave, laugh, squeal and even kiss the baby.  If we pass a mirror and you are not allowed to attack it you are not a happy camper.

You only cut one tooth this month, slacker.  That is a total of 7 now - 4 on top, 3 on the bottom.  I think you are working on a few more now though.  I just love your little toothy grin!

It is so much fun watching you explore the world around you.  You are learning that you can bang toys and they make noises or if you drop things they magically reappear on your high chair tray or mommy picks them back up a billion times.  One of your favorite new tricks is flicking the straw on your sippy cup and spraying water all over both of us. You think it is hilarious and I have to admit it is pretty funny.

You have a very bad case of mommy-itis.  You have always been a mama's girl, but now that you are mobile you make sure there is never more than about 4 inches between us at all times.  Cooking dinner can be a bit of a challenge with you standing up pulling on my legs, but I love it.  All of the books say separation anxiety is at an all time high this month.  We might be able to confirm that if I ever left you, haha.

You give the sweetest kisses and love these days.  My favorite thing is when you lay your little head on my shoulder and just let me love on you.  I could have never imagined the special bond we have and just how much I would love you.  It definitely helps that you are so stinking sweet I could just eat you up!

We are so blessed to have such a beautiful, sweet, smart, adventurous little lady.  You bring so much joy to our lives and we love you more than you will ever know.  I simply cannot believe how big you are getting and how fast you are changing. You have the sweetest, silliest little personality and I feel honored that I get to be the one to be with you everyday.  You are my little bestie and always will be :)
Love you with all my heart!
