Sunday Funday

Is it spring already??
This weekend we got a little taste of it and I am so ready! Bring on the flip-flops, sundresses and bikinis oh wait, not bikinis, yikes!  It was a beautiful, sunny Sunday afternoon and we just had to get outside and enjoy it.  We took a quilt out in the backyard and a few toys and just watched Olivia play.  I really do cherish these times with my little family. We are usually so busy doing one thing or another that it is so refreshing to just stop and savor these moments together.

The days of wearing her shades peacefully are over, now she just wants to eat them...like everything else.

Girl loves her sippy cup now, of course she will still not take a bottle, but at least she will drink from anything with a straw.  Why does she automatically look so much older when she is holding her own drink??
I know this is not a big deal to most people, but around here watching her latch on and drink from anything besides mommy is reason for celebration!!

I simply cannot believe how big my girl is getting.  She is crawling all over the place and pulling up on everything she can get her hands on.  Don't worry, she wasn't a fan of the grass so she stayed on the blanket.

So in love with this new smile she has, cheesin' big time!

Olivia insisted on trying on her bikini so she could get some sun on that little chubby body. I obliged her request ;)

Looking forward to seeing her walking around in her bathing suits this summer!  I don't know that I can handle the cuteness!

My whole world :)
So thankful for the beautiful day God gave us and my wonderful little family to share it with.

Zoo Animal

My oh my I am behind on the blogging! Between my child deciding she doesn't need to sleep during the day - at all - and a booming bow making business I feel like I can't catch up with anything.  So today my house is a mess and I have several orders to fill, but I need to document my baby's first trip to the zoo!!
Last week the weather took another crazy turn and we got into the 70's.  My sis and I packed the girls up and took a trip to the zoo.  It was overcast and perfect for walking around and enjoying being outside. There was hardly anyone there so we got to spend lots of time acting a complete fool making the sea lions wave to us and chase down the elusive peacock.

Side note - I forgot my camera - boo!!!  All of these pics are terrible quality off of my phone, but oh well!

All of the animals were in rare form!  Maybe they could feel the storm a brewin' coming that night!
We had several up close and personal encounters and baby girl was captivated by all of the animals.

Clearly, she is just enthralled at all of this action ;)

She really did have a great time on the carousel, squealing and laughing the whole time.

We loved spending time with our cousins and friends!
At least Allie is smiling :)

Girl always gives the best smiles to her Aunt Ash..makes me a tad jealous. The minute she sees me hold up a camera she runs crawls like a mad woman the other way now!

Cheesin' big!  How many teeth can you count??  Hint, there are seven razor sharp little daggers in there!

After being cooped up in the house with snow and sickness it was so refreshing to get outside and I am so happy my sweet girl loved the zoo as much as mommy does!  We bought zoo memberships so I have a feeling we will be visiting very often coming up!

Wonder Week

That moment when you are nursing your sick baby to sleep because she has not had a nap all day and she finally falls asleep.  You stare at her beautiful, innocent little face and in that moment it makes the last 48 hours of no sleep totally worth it.  Then, you sneeze....all hell breaks loose and any hope of a nap is now history.  You both just look at each other and cry because really, what else is there to do?

My poor baby has her first ear infection and she has been pitiful.  She has been on antibiotics for a few days now and is finally starting to feel better.  Being sick hasn't stopped her from hitting some major milestones this last week!  She is now a full on crawler..leaving a trail of snot wherever she roams!  She is also pulling up on everything she can reach.

This includes her crib.  Nap time has been a real struggle.  She will stand and jabber for-ev-er!!!
It is like she doesn't understand how to just lay back down and go to sleep.  Throw an ear infection in the mix and we are getting no sleep around here.
There is this book called The Wonder Weeks - or something like that.  Apparently we are in a wonder week because she is hitting milestones left and right and her little brain just can't rest. She uses her naptimes these days to practice all of her new "tricks".
I am beginning to wonder if I am going to make it through this with my sanity.
It has been cold, snowy and rainy here so we have been couped up with our sick germs for almost 2 weeks now and I think we are both about to go stir crazy!

This morning we had to get out of the house so we took a trip to Ash's.
Sidenote - has anyone ever taken their carseat apart to clean it??  I thought it was necessary to get it squeaky clean, against Chad's advice.  It took me a good 20 minutes to get that sucker put back together, with a baby crawling in my lap whining mamamamama the whole time :)
Nana came to Ash's too and brought us chick-fil-a, yum!  Olivia enjoyed seeing Ava and playing with some new toys for a bit.

It was nice to get out of the house and we are hoping to both feel better soon!  We have a trip to the zoo planned for tomorrow since the weather is supposed to be really warm :)

I really am so proud of my growing girl.  Crawling, pulling up and standing, saying mama all the time, it is almost more than my heart can handle!

Love this little crazy, sick bug!

Happy Hump Day!
(ps. I totally had to check my calendar to make sure it was in fact Wednesday, it is)

8 Months

February weather in Alabama has been crazy!  Last night we got 4 inches of snow.  I am talking the big, fat, beautiful snowflakes that you just have to go catch with your mouth wide open.  Chad and I had to get out and play in it while Olivia slept, it was just too pretty not to!  We okay maybe just me made snow angels and threw a few snow balls at each other and pretty much ran around like two crazy kids again, just me acting a fool.  We started off the morning right with a little snow cream for breakfast and Olivia loved it!  She has a runny nose this morning so she is having to enjoy the snow from indoors.  I don't think she minds though because last time she was not a fan of playing in the snow.  This morning the snow is melting and it is supposed to be in the 70's next week and all I can say is Bring on Spring!!!   We have enjoyed this little bit of winter wonderland though.

(watching the snow in her snowflake jammies)

It is hard to believe that I just met my sweet girl eight short months ago.  She is already so much a part of who I am and the perfect piece of our family puzzle that we didn't even know was missing.  This last month has been so much fun! Yes, the weather is drab outside, but we have had a blast with lots of playdates and mommy has had to get creative with fun stuff to do inside.
We are having so much fun with our Valentine Countdown and have only missed a day, but we made up for it...sometimes, when you are 8 months old, you just don't feel like making valentine cards ;)
Happy 8 Months to this sweet little bundle of LOVE!

We had to take a little sick visit to the doctor this morning and turns out you have your first ear infection..boo!  You have been super sweet even though you are obviously in pain.  Hoping you feel better soon so we can play out side next week in the warm weather!  I did have them weigh you this morning and you are 18 pounds, 10 ounces - with your clothes on ;)  You are growing like a weed! You are still pretty long and lean, except for those little chunky legs!  Secretly I hope you have those forever (ok, maybe not forever, but I would also be cool if you stayed little forever too, deal?)

Girl, you want to crawl so bad and I know you can do it! You get on your hands and knees and take about 3 or 4 full crawls and then you try to stand up..say what??  Oh yes, you dig your feet in and do this bear crawl thing, get frustrated and then just sit back up and start it all over again.  I must say, you are pretty entertaining to watch.  You definitely make your way around though.  I have a feeling things are about to get very interesting around here!

Just as I suspected, those two front teeth popped through this month for a grand total of 6 teeth! You have little spaces in between each tooth and it is so stinking cute!  You are constantly slobbering and biting on everything so I have a feeling you aren't going to stop the tooth action anytime soon.

You love green food.  Who's kid are you anyways??  You're favorite is sweet peas gag meI really am glad you love so many different foods.  I am such a picky eater and I am determined to make you eat everything.  I know that you are still little and we probably have some chicken nugget only days ahead of us, but for now you are a great eater!

You also love to feed yourself!  I can put bites of anything on your tray and you work those little chubby fingers like a boss and gobble up every last little morsel.  It amazes me to watch you do this.  What is amazing is how you could not do this just a few short weeks ago.  My baby is a little genius ;)

I love to watch you play.  You love to bang toys together and just laugh, although I cannot get you to clap your hands and it is the same motion.  I guess you have to save some tricks for next month, right?  Your very favorite toy is a water bottle.  I have to make sure the label is off and the top or any other plastic part you could choke on because you absolutely demolish it!  It looks like a wild animal has gotten a hold of it after you are done.  Actually, you kind of handle it like a wild animal.  You grab and squeeze it so hard your whole body shakes and you bite it and twist your head side to side and squeal.  This too, is premium entertainment for Daddy and I.

You jabber all the time!  Mostly when you are happy it is bah-bah-bah.  You only break out the Ma-ma-ma-ma when you are fussing at me, or I walk out of your presence for .01 seconds.  Even when you are unhappy saying mama it still warms my heart, sorry I just love it.  You are also a champion squealer. I just love a squeaky little girl :)

Sleep, where art thou???
You have been sleeping through the night for months now, but lately you have decided you need to wake up a few times in the middle of the night like old times, just to see if mama can hang.  While I appreciate you wanting to spend time with me I would prefer to do it during daylight hours.  I read that there is a big sleep regression right around this time though.  You are learning so much and it is hard to turn your busy little brain off and rest, that and teething like a mutha.  For about the last 2 weeks you have only woken once and I feed you and you go right back to sleep, but anytime you would like to just go on and sleep straight through again it won't hurt my feelings ;)

(this is what most of our photo shoot looked like...sigh)

My very favorite new trick you have learned it giving kisses!  You open that little slobbery mouth as wide as you can and plant a big wet one right on my lips.  It is probably the sweetest thing ever. You are such a sweet and loving little girl.  You lay your head on my shoulder and give me love and scoot/crawl over to me when we are in the floor just to be near me.  When you wake up in the morning I get you and put you in the bed with me and we have a full on snuggle-fest for at least 30 minutes.  You will lay there and let me love and kiss all over you...as long as I am singing or letting you play with my hand (which I also love). You love to hold my hand and just feel of it and occasionally try to bite it, can't blame a girl for trying.
I left you for the very first time with your Aunt Ash this month.  Mommy had to cover a Body Step class last minute and you went to visit the cousins. Yeah, you read that right, I taught BodyStep after no exercise since last June and lived to tell about it.  It wasn't pretty, but I made it!  Anyways,  I was a nervous wreck leaving you, but you were just fine and didn't even know I was gone.  This may be because you love your aunt so much, which makes me very happy.  I know everyone says how as a mom you need your "me time", but I just don't think I am cut out to leave my baby...like ever haha.  Even though I knew you were fine and well taken care of I couldn't help but think of you the whole time and miss you like crazy. maybe mommy is really the one with separation anxiety here ;)

You really are my very best little friend.  I know I may not get out and do a whole lot of things right now, but I would not miss these little moments with you for anything in this world.  I am so honored that God chose me to be your mommy.   I love watching your little personality develop.  I love watching different emotions run across your face as you try to figure things out.  I love watching you watch tv (when I let you), eyes glued in amazement.  You are such a sweet and silly little thing and I always want you to know how much joy your bring to mine and Daddy's life!
Love you to the moon and back baby girl!
