25 Days of Christmas Cardio Challenge!

Last night, as I polished off a package of holiday Oreos, I pondered if I am the only one indulging in sweets and kicking my workout routine to the curb for the holiday season.  In between juggling a new baby, a new house, trying to decorate for Christmas and oh yeah, Hey Hubby, I can come up with lots of reasons not to exercise.  I have used everything from "I don't want to wake the baby up" to "If I do that jumping jack my milk will most definitely dry up" and my favorite "I will start tomorrow". Everyone is extra busy this time of year so I will make these short, but effective!  As you know I am a nut when it comes to holidays so I thought if I could make this Christmas related then I would do it so here goes!

25.  25 Burpees, 25 Tricep Dips, 25 Mountain Climbers, 25 Sumo Squats - repeat 2x if you ate cookie dough today for breakfast...dangit that's me
24. Get outside and walk/run/jog a mile.  The brisk weather might just be enough to make you move faster!
23. Grab a stopwatch (or your iphone) 30 sec Jumping Jacks, 30 sec hover (elbows and toes), 30 sec Jumping Jacks, 30 sec wall sit - repeat 3 times, round 2 do each exercise for 45 sec, round 3 for 1 min   BONUS round each exercise for 2 minutes if you feel like your belly is shaking like a bowl full of jelly!
22. 50 crunches, 40 Bicycle Crunches, 30 oblique crunches - each side, 20 reverse crunches, 1 minute plank (hands and toes), repeat 3 times
21. 50 squats, 30 walking lunges, 20 jumping jacks, 30 side lunges, 50 reindeer donkey kicks, 50 butt kickers (jog in place and literally kick your own behind)  repeat 3 times
20. Get outside, walk for 2 minutes, jog 2 minutes, sprint as fast as you can for 30 seconds, jog 1 minute, repeat 3 times
19. 10 burpees, 10 squat jumps, 10 push ups, 10 full sit ups, 10 tricep dips, 10 tuck jumps, 10 plank jacks, 10 lunges, 10 mountain climbers, 10 bicycle crunches.  repeat 3 times
18. Watch the movie ELF...every time someone says Santa do 25 burpees, every time Buddy makes things awkward do 100 jumping jacks, do 30 crunches for every cotton ball Buddy eats and every time Buddy says "the best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loudly for all to hear" take a lap around your house option- singing Santa Claus is Coming to Town as you go!
17.  100 jumping jacks, 90 crunches, 80 squats, 70 reverse crunches, 60 lunges, 50 calf raises, 40 tricep dips, 30 burpees, 20 push ups and a 1 minute plank hold.  repeat 2 times
16. Bundle up and go for a walk.  Find a hill and sprint to the top, when you get there do 25 squats, 25 mountain climbers and 25 full sit ups then run back down the hill and repeat 3 times.
15. 1 minute high knee run in place, 50 crunches, 50 Russian twists, 50 bicycle crunches, 50 leg scissors, 50 superman. Repeat 2 times
14. Using stairs or a step stool 2 minute step ups with knee lift, 15 reverse stepping lunges (each leg), 15 calf raises, 15 tricep push ups with hands on step.  repeat 3 times
13. Listen to your favorite Christmas songs while you clean your house.  Every time you hear "santa" drop and do 20 push ups, every time you hear "snow" do 20 sit-ups, every time you hear "jingle" do 100 jumping jacks!
12. The Dashing Dozen! 12 jump squats, 12 plank jacks, 12 jumping lunges, 12 sit ups, 12 burpees, 12 mountain climbers, 12 push ups, 12 jackknife sit ups, 12 windmill planks, 12 frog jumps, 12 tricep dips, 12 lie down stand ups (lay flat and without using your arms roll up, stand up and jump as high as you can)  repeat 3 times
11. Take a late afternoon stroll around your neighborhood to look at Christmas lights :)
10. 25 kettle bell swings ( you can use a handweight if you do not have a kettle bell), 25 sumo squats, 25 triangle push ups, 25 curtsey lunges.  repeat 3 times
9. 99 jumping jacks, 99 crunches, 99 second wall sit, 99 leg lifts, 9 push ups.  repeat doing 88 repetitions then 77, 66,55,44,33,22,11 of each!
8.  Using hand weights, 15 chest fly's, 15 squats pressing weights over head when you stand, 15 tricep extension, 15 shoulder rows, 15 lunges with bicep curls.  repeat 3 times
7.  30 jumping jacks, 5 push ups, 25 high knees, 7 burpees, 10 crunches, 7 squats, 5 push ups, 10 crunches, 5 pushups, 7 squats, 30 jumping jacks.  repeat 3 times
6. 60 second wall sit, 60 sec jumping jacks, 60 sec plank, 60 sec high knee run, 60 second hover, 60 second butt kick run.  repeat 3 times
5. 20 squats, 30 lunges, 40 calf raises, 50 sec wall sit, 100 jumping jacks, 50 sec wall sit, 40 sumo squats, 30 leg raises, 20 squats.  repeat 2 times
4. Watch "How the Grinch Stole Christmas"  every time the Grinch does something devious do 20 squat jumps, everytime you see Cindy Lou do 15 push ups, every time the who's sing do 100 jumping jacks
3. 100 jumping jacks, 90 v-sit twists, 80 reverse crunches, 70 crunches, 60 vertical leg crunches, 50 oblique crunches, 40 bicycle crunches, 30 second plank hold, 20 crossover crunches, 10 full sit ups
2. Go for a nice long walk at the mall!!!
1. Twas the day before Christmas and all though the house not a creature should workout, have some wine with your spouse!
