5 Week Fun!

This week has been a little crazy!  The good news is our house is only 45 days from being finished, but we have been running around like crazy trying to get everything picked out.  I had to leave my little one for the first time this week :(   On Monday we went to pick out granite and my mom came to watch Olivia.  She was so good!  I had to pick out lighting for the whole house on Tuesday and dropped her at my mom's for three hours!!!  Little lady was not too happy about this... she cried for me and it made me so sad.  She is still not a fan of the bottle at all and that makes it hard to leave her (not that I am in a hurry to run off).  She will take it after a lot of fussing and if she is really hungry.  She survived her first couple of times away from me and so did I :)
I mean, who would want to leave this sweet little face anyways???

We also had another play date with the big kids!
It's hard work being so little ;)
 Allie Kate and Collin

Wednesday we went to my 6 week check up at the doctor.  They were super slow and we had to wait 2 hours!  By the time we got back to a room Olivia was not a happy camper.  Everything went well with my check up.  I am cleared to work out again, yay!  I am going blog about my workout journey to get back in shape soon.  After the doc we went to my sister, Ashley's house and hung out with them for a while.  We hit up Dairy Queen for a sweet treat and then to Hobby Lobby.  My little cutie pie did this the whole time :)

Later that evening, and a huge blowout and wardrobe change for both of us, Olivia got to attend her first supper club at Savannah's house!  We had lasagna and Lindsey made delicious chocolate lasagna.  We got a  good pic and then Olivia decided to throw up all over Savannah's bed (and mommy) so we had to excuse ourselves to the house for a bath and then to bed!

After a very fun filled week we are just going to chill for the weekend and spend time as a little family of three!  I got Olivia's newborn pics yesterday and I will leave you with some of my favorites :)

Month 1...Gone!

I don't even know where to begin... this has been the best month of my life by far as well as the craziest!  I cannot believe my little lovie has already been here a month, but then I can't even remember what it was like to not have her in my life.  Here is a little recap of what all we did this month.  I promise to be better with my postings because I seem to have some memory failure.. I blame it on lack of sleep!

Monthly Milestones

We celebrated our first holiday together, The 4th of July!  We went to the lake with my fam and it rained ALL weekend long!!!  That did not bother my little nugget one little bit, or mommy for that matter (I was not too excited to wear a bikini anyways).  Instead of outdoor activities we stayed inside and ate like there was no tomorrow, one of both our favorite things to do :)  I also had multiple festive outfits for Olivia which turned out to be a good thing since she blew it out in the first outfit I had her in (and all over me..back to the shower it was)

We attended our first play date! Last week we went to Crystal's house with 9 other kiddos to enjoy the summer weather!  Well, the other kids played while we chilled in the air conditioning.  It was so much fun! Olivia enjoyed playing with little Finley who is only 4 days younger than her (I think).  We put them in the nap nanny together and it was pretty darn cute.  Olivia looks like she just punched poor Finley, but really they loved each other :)

We took our first trip to the Galleria to shop for me some new clothes.  Any new mom will tell you, this is not such a joyous occasion.  I am too small for my maternity clothes and still don't fit into my regular clothes so shopping was a must.  I decided it is much more fun to shop for this little bit, she looks so cute in everything!

My sweet little baby also experienced her first sugar high this month.  Good job mom!  I have always had a crazy sweet tooth and I lost it during the first part of my pregnancy only to come back towards the end with a mean vengeance! Now that I am nursing I am so hungry all of the time and guess what I am hungry for??  I ate a whole can of cake icing in one sitting followed by an entire pack of golden oreos a few hours later.  I thought I was being so good because I was told to avoid chocolate so golden oreos are a go!  The next day my child stopped sleeping...I mean at all!  In a 36 hour span she maybe slept 4 hours in short 20 minute naps followed by a wide awake flailing, kicking baby.  She was so fussy after a while because she was absolutely exhausted!  I did everything I could think of and the girl just would not go to sleep.  I finally realized (after hours of googling) that I had given her a sugar high, what a proud moment for me not!  I have learned to moderate my sugar intake and it is no fun, but then neither is being awake for 24 hours straight ;)

Even when she was fussing and acting a fool, this little face still lights up my world!
Morning snuggles are the BEST!!!  Hair all a mess and milk from the night before dried on her little face haha!

To my sweet Olivia Jane

You are the sweetest most snuggly little angel in the whole world!  You have brought me so much happiness over this last month I cannot even explain how much I love you.  I can tell that you already love me too.  If I walk in a room and start talking you are looking around trying to find me.  You can be all upset and I can snuggle you in close to my heart and you calm down.  My favorite time is in the mornings after Daddy goes to work when I get you in the bed with me and we snooze for a couple of hours snuggled up together.  You let me kiss and love all over you and I LOVE it!  I am beyond blessed to be your mommy and I cannot wait to watch you grow, but not too fast!

My New Normal

So I am just a little bit behind on my blogging, but it turns out having a newborn is a wee bit time consuming.  The last two weeks have been incredible!  I am loving being a mommy.  The first week home from the hospital was so special because my hubby got to be with us.  It was so good to get to spend that time together and bond as our new little family.  I am so in love with my new life...3 feedings a night and all :)

Family Selfie!

Olivia had her first doctor's appointment and she did so great!  She didn't cry even when we had to get her all naked, haha.  She had lost down to 6 pounds, 14 ounces which the doctor said was normal for breastfed babies.  Side note..my milk came in the night we came home from the hospital and my little one stayed up feeding every hour that night.  Poor little thing was starving!  All is going well in that department now. (I plan on doing a whole post on breast feeding soon) It hurts so stinking bad, but I am sticking with it.

My little love all ready for the doctor

The first week went by in a blur.  My sweet husband would wake up early with Olivia and let me rest, until she needed to eat that is.  I only cried once when he had to go back to work.  I actually broke down the night before and I am not even sure why.   I guess all of the crazy hormones got the best of me!  We were just fine on our own though and had some friends and family over to keep us company.

We also got to celebrate my wonderful husband and now amazing daddy on his first Father's Day!  Just look at this proud papa ;)  Love these two so much it hurts!!!

Olivia Jane - 1 week old

Week 2 is coming to a close and I am having a hard time remembering the week.  Pregnancy brain has got nothing on Mommy brain.  Olivia had her first trip to Our Place this week!!  Our Place is this delicious little restaurant in my hometown, just a little hole in the wall place.  They have the best fries and ranch dressing in the world!!!  I went there almost once a week while pregnant so it was very special to take Olivia on the outside for the first time!
Olivia approves Our Place!

Olivia Jane - 2 weeks old

She had her 2 week doctor's appointment this week and she was a trooper.  She gained 2 ounces a day since last week and is up to 8 pounds now!  Momma's milk does a body good, haha!  She was doing so well that we don't even have to go back for the 1 month check-up and just come in for the 2 month.  They had to prick her little heel :(  She screamed bloody murder of course, but as soon as I picked her up she stopped.  One of the coolest things about being her mom is that I can usually calm her down just by talking to her.  I just think it is so cool that she not only knows the sound of my voice, but actually prefers it to others.  She is becoming attached to me already and I absolutely LOVE it!  She is sleeping great too, for the most part.  She eats every 2 to 3 hours and goes right back to sleep through the night.  She is starting to stay awake a little more during the day, usually about an hour is her limit though. If she goes longer than that she is one fussy baby!  She is really a great baby and I am so thankful that she is happy and healthy :)

I am sure I forgot some things, but oh well!  I will try not to go so long in between posts next time.  My poor memory ain't what it used to be and I am trying to hurry before my little nugget wakes up and wants to eat!  I can honestly say the last two weeks have been the most wonderful days of my whole life.  I am so blessed to have my baby girl on the outside finally and my precious husband to share this life with!  I absolutely loved being pregnant and I really thought that I would miss it, but I really don't.  It is nice to have my body getting back to normal and my baby in my arms :)
